The Community Food Security Coalition’s 12th Annual Conference

The conference theme is “Restoring our Urban and Rural Communities with Healthy Food.” It will include 50 workshops on a wide variety of food system issues, a dozen field trips, and five short courses.   There are numerous sessions on food retail issues, including:

  • A full-day “Corner Store Crash Course” led by James-Johnson Piett and Jerry Jones
  • An all-day field trip to food retail sites in Philadelphia
  • Plenary sessions on improving access to healthy food in underserved areas
  • Workshops on healthy corner stores 101, local sourcing and distribution, changes in the WIC food package, and ‘everything you ever wanted to know’ about grocery stores
